About beth mcgowan

I am Beth McGowan, running as a Republican for Campbell County Treasurer.

I grew up in Campbell County and take pride in calling Gillette my home. I was born in

Cheyenne and my family moved here in 1976. I have been blessed to be married to my

best friend, Michael, for 20 years.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and possess over 40 years of

experience in the field. Throughout my career, I have held various accounting positions,

ranging from Bookkeeper to Controller. During this time, I have managed staff across

multiple industries and taught basic accounting procedures, including the rationale

behind these practices. I also served as an Employer Tax Auditor for the Wyoming

Unemployment and Workers Compensation programs, assisting numerous employers

in Campbell County.

I am the Accounting Manager in the Campbell County Treasurer’s office. During my

time, I have played a pivotal role in reconciling various accounts, which has greatly

contributed to completing one audit and advancing the second audit.

As someone from outside the organization, I bring a fresh perspective that has allowed

me to identify several changes to improve the office’s operations. As County Treasurer, I

will have the opportunity to implement these changes. My focus is to run the office more

efficiently. This will improve the level of customer service we provide to the public we

serve.

I look forward to being your Treasurer and making the Treasurer’s office the best it can

be.
